Stardew Valley, the award-winning simulation role-playing video game developed by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is officially coming on Xbox Game Pass in Fall 2021.
During Tuesday’s ID@Xbox indie showcase revealed that Stardew Valley is just headed to Xbox Game Pass alongside many new games like Aragami 2, Evil Genius 2, and Pupparazzi.
“There’s not a set release date yet, but it’s probably sometime in the fall”Eric Barone
Stardew Valley first launched on Steam in 2016, and has since made its way to consoles and mobile. At $15 (and frequently on sale), it’s an easy buy as one of the best games on PC. As of the early 2020s financial report, Stardew had passed 10 million sales. But being added to Game Pass will put it in front of an even bigger potential audience.
Even after 5 years of release, many gamers are playing the game. The developer team is doing a great job, they are releasing new updates and contents from time to time. Early in 2021, the released update 1.5 with a wealth of new features and an expanded endgame.
“The most recent update has been – I’d call it the biggest update to Stardew Valley ever,” Barone said on the Xbox stream. “Which it is, objectively. It seems like people really loved it, and the game kind of had a new resurgence in popularity after the update came out. I’ve been really happy with the response to that. The update adds a huge amount of stuff to the game, especially the end-game.”
“I’m of the mindset that I could probably continue working on Stardew Valley forever with the amount of ideas I have,” he added. “I love the world. I love making it better. I feel like it’s a never-ending thing I could do to make it better. So I just put those ideas in these updates and keep the game going, and it’s been fun.”
